It's inspiration that will keep me going

I have blown every social media site up with my request for donations and support requests. I’m sure at this point people roll their eyes and ‘hide’ my posts or scroll right past it; but I think you should now why I’m so passionate about raising money and walking 60 miles in the Susan G Komen 3 day for the Cure.

Everyone comes into your life for a reason. They have a purpose, a place to fill in your heart, and a part to play in making you the person you have or will become. If something happens to this select group, you will go above and beyond to do what you can to help. When my aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer, I felt like there had to be something I could do.

While watching TV I saw an ad for the 3 day, 60 mile walk that would take place in Cleveland. I immediately got online to start researching how I could join and what I could do to become part of this fight to end breast cancer. The first thing I noticed was that if you register you agree to raise a minimum of $2300. I closed all the open windows and shut the computer. No way could I do that.

Days went by and I kept hearing the radio ads, seeing the TV commercials, and constantly thinking about it. How could these people expect normal middle class to raise that much money? That’s when the giant, huge, big wooden board that says DUH! smacked me right in the head.
It’s not like people with breast cancer asked for it. They don’t have the option to shut the computer and walk away from it because it’s going to be too hard. They have to ‘suck it up’ and deal. They fight. So I decided it’s the least I can do to fight for them. To honor those lost and help those living. Someday there will be a cure, and when that happens, I can say I helped fund it.

Help me reach my goal for the Susan G. Komen Cleveland 3-Day for the Cure!
